It's important to check with your family doctor before embarking on any new exercise regime, particularly if you have health problems, are pregnant, overweight or on medication.

Introduction

Total Body Conditioning

This programme is primarily designed to improve the shape, tone and appearance of all the major muscles across the body to also improve mobility and movement efficiency. Some of the exercises may look familiar and others may be completely new to you, try and stick to them all and not just your favourites. Remember, any activity will also burn the all important calories and working the muscles really does help to increase your metabolic rate through the metabolically active tissue we know as muscle fibres. Think of the muscles fibres as an opportunity to really help you burn the calories, as each muscle is worked it will require energy from the body, then secondly, when the muscle goes into a recovery state, the metabolic rate will remain higher than normal.
