    Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/gas mark 5 and lightly oil an ovenproof dish.

    team or boil the swede and carrot until just cooked. Drain, if necessary, then mash or liquidise with the margarine, eggs and milk and season to taste with salt and pepper. Place in the dish.

    Mix the oats and cheese and sprinkle on top.

    Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, then serve at once.
