These delicious crumbly, oat flapjacks hide a handy secret, as they are made with leftover mincemeat as well as Mornflake Jumbo Oats! They are easy to make and are perfect for the Christmas Day tea time.

    Preheat oven to 180C/340F/Gas mark 4 and grease an 18cm x 24cm baking tray or tin with butter.

    Melt the butter and syrup together in a large pan; remove the pan from the heat, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

    Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and press down firmly with the back of a spoon.

    Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes until the flapjacks are golden brown.

    Mark into 9 or 12 squares and allow to cool completely before cutting with a sharp knife and serving.

    Store in an airtight tin.
