    Start with the Cherry Compote - add cherries to a large pan and place over a medium heat and allow to soften.

    Add the sugar and a big squeeze of lemon juice and stir. Allow the mixture to bubble until a syrup forms and the cherries are tender (around 4 minutes).

    Put the oats into a separate large, deep saucepan.

    Add the milk (or water) and stir thoroughly.

    Place the saucepan over a high heat and cook the oats, stirring constantly, for 2 mins.

    Then reduce the heat to a simmer and add the chocolate and chilli paste and continue to cook for a further 2-3 mins or until you have a nice thick porridge consistency.

    Spoon the porridge into bowls.

    Drizzle the cherry compote over the top and serve to your loved one this Valentine 's Day!
