    Gently poach the pears in the tablespoon of water with the ginger and rice syrup for about 5 minutes, until soft.

    In another saucepan add the water, milk and oats. Bring to the boil, and simmer for one minute.

    Take the saucepan off the heat and let stand for one minute before serving. Serve with the pear slices arranged on top.

    *Cook's tip - peel and keep fresh ginger roots in the freezer, then grate from frozen.
