Mix all of the oatmeal ingredients together in a heatproof bowl that has been greased with a little butter.
Place the bowl in the slow cooker, and pour boiling water in to the slow cooker to it comes up just over half way up the bowl. (A large pudding bowl is perfect for this)
Turn the slow cooker on and cook overnight for 6 to 8 hours on low.
The next morning, poach the apples and fruit together with the sugar and cinnamon for 5 minutes, with a little water, until the apples are soft but still retain their shape.
Serve the oatmeal in bowls with extra milk or cream, a sprinkling of sugar and the poached fruit.
