Bowled over cricket club officials have thanked Mornflake for its support as they fundraise for improvements to their ground.
Weston Cricket Club needs to raise £5,000 to install safety fencing to prevent balls going astray into the Main Road and causing a potential hazard to passing drivers.
Club president Alec Stockton said:
"There's already a fence bordering 25% of the ground but it's in a bad state of repair and we need to install three and a half metre fencing along the Main Road side to meet current health and safety standards. Mornflake kindly came onboard with donation. Getting any sponsorship is hard nowadays so we can't thank the company enough for its support."
The club, founded in 1870, has a thriving membership including three senior teams and 86 junior players all from the Crewe and Nantwich area.
Mornflake marketing manager Richard Jones said: "As a company we're all about healthy foods and getting a good start to the day with our breakfast cereals, so we were happy to offer our support."
Our sporting links grow stronger every year with Crewe Alexandra FC as long-term sponsors. We helped set up a breakfast club for players who have been enjoying a good run of success.
Weston Cricket Club secretary Alan Holdcroft and president, Alec Stockton thank Matthew Woodfield on behalf of Mornflake with youngsters from the club's under 8 side.
