Organic
We've a long
association with Organic going back over 40 years, in fact we were
one of the very first millers to mill organic oats in the UK.
Organic production is an overall system of farm management and food production that combines the best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. The absence of pesticides and other banned practices means that farms usually produce less organic crops per acre than farms using authorised pesticides and practices. As a result the organic Oats we buy are generally more expensive which is why you pay slightly more in the shops. When you do pick up a pack of Mornflake Organic Oats though you'll be safe in the knowledge that our Oats have all been grown exactly as nature intended.
Within the UK, DEFRA control the growing and processing of organic foods, and there is useful information on the DEFRA website. All Mornflake products comply with UK and EU legislation on Organic..
